This Blog is intended to lead you into a routine habit of practicing the presence of God. There are somethings you will need to know before you start. There are 8 different sections of this devotional. They are listed below with explanations and instructions.
1. Prayer to start the day
This is a short prayer to focus your mind on God. This will be changed once a week, but should be used everyday to start this devo.2. Psalm
The purpose of the Psalm is to prepare your heart and mind to meditate on God. Read it slowly. Visualize what is being said. Let it go past your mind into your heart. This will be changed once a week, but use this everyday to focus your time with God3. Daily Scripture
There is no better way for God to speak to us other than scripture. Read this slowly just like the Psalm. This will change everyday, so come back every day to hear what God has to say.4. Meditations
These are written reflections of people through out time and space that have expressed an authentic relationship with God. It is a great to know we are not alone in our experience with God. We can draw from others experience. Read this slowly and consider what is being said. This will be updated daily.5. Personal meditation
This is the time to consider all that we read and to silently listen for God's voice and direction. Do not skip over this part. It is vitally important. Don't be surprised by what happens here. Pay attention to what God is telling you. If you would like you can leave a comment or write in a journal your experience with God. Who knows what sharing our experiences with God will do to help other people.6. Prayer
This is the time when we respond to God. I will be giving weekly instruction for our direction of prayer, but keep in mind connection with God is what we are seeking. If your conversation with God goes in other directions that is good maybe that is what you need to talk with Him about.7. Hymn
Every week I will post words to a song for you to sing. I have found that singing sometimes expresses the deepest parts of our heart better than just words. I will be trying to post a link with the tune so you can sing the words in your heart.8. Prayer to close the day
This is a prayer to use for the whole week to end our conversation with God. I will update this every week.

Addressing God 6
By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.

Addressing God 5
Listen to my instruction and be wise;
do not disregard it.
Blessed are those who listen to me,
watching daily at my doors,
waiting at my doorway.
For those who find me find life
and receive favor from the LORD.
But those who fail to find me harm themselves;
all who hate me love death.”

Addressing God 4
The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

Addressing God 3
Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
